Fairfax AppWorks

Equal Courses terms of use

Effective September 27, 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Equal Courses app. By downloading or using Equal Courses, you agree to them.

1. Licence

Equal Courses is licensed, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms add to that agreement. If they conflict, Apple's EULA governs.

2. Purchase and refunds

Equal Courses is a one-time purchase through the App Store. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or ads. Apple processes all payments, and refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

3. Results are a working aid, not professional advice

Equal Courses is a calculator. Its results are meant to help with planning and layout, and they are not engineering, architectural, or other professional advice. Before you cut material, order supplies, or build, you are responsible for:

Course heights and story pole marks are calculated from the measurements you enter. They do not account for manufacturer exposure limits, starter courses, or local building codes, so check those before you install.

4. Rounding

Imperial results are rounded to the nearest 1/16 inch and metric results to the nearest millimeter. Story pole marks are measured from the bottom up so rounding doesn't add up across courses, but check your first and last marks against the wall.

5. Provided "as is"

Equal Courses is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and merchantability, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fairfax AppWorks is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of materials, time, money, or property, arising from your use of Equal Courses or reliance on its results. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date. Continuing to use Equal Courses after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, except where your local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
